What is MegaETH?
MegaETH is an Ethereum Layer 2 network that describes itself as a real-time blockchain, built to settle transactions on Ethereum while running execution at much higher throughput. The project targets very high performance, citing figures such as 100,000+ transactions per second and sub 10 millisecond block times for consumer-facing, on-chain applications.
MEGA is the network's native token. According to the project, it is used for staking and rewards rather than gas, with holders who stake their tokens earning a share of network rewards, and longer staking commitments earning a larger share.
