Nockchain
NOCK
Nockchain is a Proof of Work Layer 1 whose mining produces zero-knowledge proofs of computation rather than discarded hashes. The native token is NOCK.
Nockchain is a Layer 1 blockchain that combines Proof of Work with zero-knowledge proofs. Instead of hashing random values, miners compute a deterministic task and submit a zero-knowledge proof of the result, a model the project calls Zero-Knowledge Proof of Work. It was fair-launched with no pre-mine, and its mainnet went live in May 2025. Here is how it works and what it is used for, not the price.

Miners compete by running a deterministic computation and producing a zero-knowledge proof that the work was done correctly, rather than hashing random data as in classic Proof of Work. Other nodes verify the proof, which is cheap to check regardless of how large the computation was. The chain uses dynamic difficulty and targets roughly ten minute blocks, a model similar to Bitcoin in cadence but where the mining output is a useful verifiable proof.

Zero-knowledge proofs
A zero-knowledge proof lets one party show a computation was performed correctly without revealing all of its inputs, and the proof is cheap to verify even for heavy computations.
Useful mining
Mining produces zero-knowledge proofs of deterministic tasks instead of discarded hashes, so the work done to secure the chain also produces verifiable output.
NockApps
Applications can run off the base chain as NockApps and settle to the shared base layer through succinct proofs, keeping verification cost low.
Fixed supply
NOCK was fair-launched with no pre-mine and is hard-capped, with new units minted only through Zero-Knowledge Proof of Work mining.
Ecosystem & usage
What Nockchain is used for.
Nockchain is used for verifiable off-chain computation, application settlement, and as a Proof of Work network secured by zero-knowledge proofs.
Verifiable computation
Post proofs of off-chain computations to the base layer so results can be checked without rerunning the work.
Application settlement
NockApps run off-chain and settle to Nockchain through succinct proofs, keeping on-chain verification cost low.
Mining
Miners produce zero-knowledge proofs to secure the network and earn newly minted NOCK.
In Zypto App
Hold, swap and spend NOCK.
Nockchain is integrated in Zypto App. Hold NOCK in self-custody, swap it to any supported asset, and use it across Zypto’s features.
Nockchain is a Layer 1 blockchain that pairs Proof of Work with zero-knowledge proofs. Miners produce proofs of deterministic computation rather than discarded hashes. Its native token is NOCK.
What is Zero-Knowledge Proof of Work?
It is a consensus model where miners compute a deterministic task and submit a zero-knowledge proof of the result. Other nodes verify the proof cheaply, so the work that secures the chain also produces verifiable output.
What is the supply of NOCK?
NOCK is hard-capped at 2 to the power of 32 units. It was fair-launched with no pre-mine and is minted only through mining.
When did Nockchain launch?
Nockchain launched its mainnet in May 2025, after mining activity began in late 2024.
Can I hold NOCK in Zypto App?
Not yet. NOCK isn't in Zypto App at the moment. You can hold it in any self-custodial wallet, and you can ask us to add Nockchain using the "Request Nockchain" button above.
