What is ORE?
ORE is a proof-of-work token on the Solana blockchain. It was created to bring Bitcoin-style mining to Solana, distributing tokens to anyone willing to perform computational work rather than concentrating them among insiders, with a fixed total supply and no pre-allocation. The original version used a hash function called DrillX so mining could run on ordinary consumer hardware.
ORE first launched in April 2024 but was paused after its mining load strained the Solana network. A redesigned ORE V2 relaunched in October 2024, replacing raw proof-of-work mining with a game-based distribution mechanism in which participants stake SOL on blocks and winners are selected each round.
Because of these design changes and its speculative, game-like mechanics, ORE carries higher risk and should be approached cautiously.

How is ORE priced?
The ORE price you see is an average of live trades from exchanges worldwide, weighted by volume so the busiest markets count for most. It refreshes continuously, day and night. Because it trades continuously and worldwide, the price can move sharply within a single day. Past performance is no guarantee of future results, and nothing here is financial advice.
Where can I hold ORE?
You can hold ORE in any non-custodial wallet, which means you control the private keys rather than trusting an exchange. Zypto App is a non-custodial multichain wallet where you can hold ORE and swap it into 24,000+ assets. ORE isn't accepted as a payment method yet, so it can't be used for real-world spending in Zypto.
