What is Ethereum Name Service?
Ethereum Name Service, known as ENS, is a naming system that maps human-readable names like 'alice.eth' to long machine addresses such as wallet addresses, content hashes, and other identifiers. It works much like the internet's domain name system, but for crypto and Web3.
Names are registered as NFTs on Ethereum, and the ENS token serves as the governance asset, letting holders vote on how the system is run. ENS also supports reverse resolution, so an address can point back to a readable name.
