What is Olympus?
Olympus is a decentralized finance protocol that launched in 2021 with an unusual approach to building a reserve-backed cryptocurrency. Instead of pegging to a dollar, it aimed to create a floating-value asset backed by a treasury of other tokens, controlled by protocol-managed bonding and staking mechanics.
The OHM token is native to Olympus, and holders can stake it to earn protocol rewards. The project runs on Ethereum and has inspired a wave of similar reserve-currency experiments in DeFi, though its own design has evolved significantly since launch.
