What is Aethir?
Aethir is a decentralized cloud computing network that pools enterprise GPUs from providers around the world and rents that compute power on demand. It belongs to a category known as DePIN, or decentralized physical infrastructure, and it focuses on two areas: GPU capacity for AI training and inference, and low latency rendering for cloud gaming.
The ATH token launched in 2024 as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, with network rewards distributed on Arbitrum. ATH is the unit used to pay for GPU compute, and providers who contribute hardware or run checker nodes earn ATH in return. Holders can also stake the token to help secure the network, vote on governance, and share in network activity.
