What is Bio Protocol?
Bio Protocol is a funding and governance platform for decentralized science, often shortened to DeSci. It lets people back early-stage biotech and research projects that are organized as community-run DAOs, directing capital and contributors toward scientific work from universities, companies, and individual researchers.
The BIO token went live on January 3, 2025, issued on Ethereum and Solana, with a bridged deployment to Solana built using Wormhole, and it also reaches Base. Holders can stake BIO to earn loyalty points, gain priority access to project fundraises, and vote in the governance of the biotech DAOs in the network. The project comes from the team behind Molecule and VitaDAO.
