What is Threshold Network?
Threshold Network is a decentralized cryptography protocol that powers privacy and trust-minimized services, most notably tBTC, a tokenized version of Bitcoin that is backed one-to-one by BTC and usable in Ethereum DeFi without a centralized custodian. It uses threshold cryptography, where signing duties are split across many independent node operators.
The network was created in January 2022 as the first merger of two existing protocols, Keep Network and NuCypher, with their KEEP and NU tokens converted into the unified T token. T is used for staking by node operators, who earn rewards for supporting the network's applications, and for governance through the Threshold DAO.
tBTC and its supporting infrastructure run across Ethereum and several other chains.
You can track the Threshold Network price and hold T in a self-custody wallet.
