What is Clearpool?
Clearpool is a decentralized credit marketplace that connects lenders with vetted institutional borrowers for uncollateralized, on-chain lending. Instead of locking up collateral, approved borrowers open single-borrower liquidity pools and draw stablecoin liquidity directly from a network of lenders, who earn yield in return. The protocol has since expanded into compliant institutional pools and credit vaults that finance stablecoin payments.
CPOOL is the protocol's utility and governance token. It is used for voting on protocol decisions, staking to support pools, and rewarding liquidity providers. Clearpool launched its mainnet on Ethereum in March 2022 and later extended to Polygon and Base, with CPOOL issued as an ERC-20 token.
As a credit protocol dealing in uncollateralized lending, Clearpool carries borrower and counterparty risk that simpler lending markets do not.
