What is Venus?
Venus (XVS) is a decentralized finance lending protocol on BNB Chain. It works as an algorithmic money market where users supply crypto assets to earn interest or borrow against their collateral, with interest rates set algorithmically by supply and demand. Borrowing is over-collateralized to protect the protocol. Venus also lets users mint VAI, a synthetic stablecoin backed by crypto collateral.
XVS is the protocol's governance token. Holders can vote on protocol decisions such as adding markets, adjusting parameters, and managing risk. XVS is a token on BNB Chain.
Venus launched in 2020 and is one of the longer-running DeFi money markets in the BNB Chain ecosystem, drawing on the network's low fees and high throughput.
You can track the Venus price and hold XVS in a self-custody wallet.
