What is Acurast?
Acurast is a decentralized physical infrastructure network, or DePIN, that turns idle smartphones into a global pool of computing power. Instead of relying on traditional data centers, it pools processing from many devices and uses the trusted execution environments built into modern phones to run jobs confidentially, so neither the device owner nor the job requester sees the other's data. Developers can run applications and AI workloads on this network as a decentralized alternative to mainstream cloud providers.
ACU is the native token. It pays for compute jobs and network fees, and rewards the device owners who provide processing power and stake to take part. The project completed its funding rounds and launched its Genesis mainnet in late 2025.
As a recently launched DePIN, Acurast's usefulness depends on real compute demand and the size of its device network growing over time.
