CELO and Zypto App: where things stand
Celo is not integrated in Zypto App yet, so CELO cannot be held, swapped or spent in the app.
Zypto App is a non-custodial wallet for 20+ integrated chains: hold your own keys, swap through on-chain DEXs, connect to dApps, and use your crypto for real-world spending through the Zypto Premium VISA Card, gift cards, mobile top-ups and bill pay.
New chains are added as we reach them on the roadmap and as we see demand. Telling us on X is the fastest way to move Celo up the queue.

News & analysis
What is Celo?
Celo is a mobile-first blockchain focused on payments, stablecoins, and DeFi for everyday users. It launched in 2020 as a standalone layer 1, and in March 2025 it transitioned into an Ethereum layer 2 built on Optimism's OP Stack, inheriting Ethereum security while keeping fast block times and low fees. A notable feature is fee abstraction, which lets users pay gas in stablecoins such as cUSD or USDC rather than only the native coin.
CELO is the native utility and governance token. It is used for gas, staking, and voting on network proposals, and after the layer 2 move it works as both a native asset and an ERC-20 token across the Celo and Ethereum ecosystems.
You can follow the Celo price and hold CELO in a self-custody wallet.
