What is GMX?
GMX is a decentralized exchange built for perpetual and spot trading, letting people open leveraged positions on-chain directly from their own wallets instead of through a centralized venue. Trades run against a shared liquidity pool supplied by other users, who earn a portion of the fees the platform generates.
The GMX token launched in September 2021 and acts as the protocol's governance and main utility asset. Holders can stake GMX to receive a share of trading fees and take part in decisions about how the exchange is run. The protocol started on Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer-2 network, and later added support for Avalanche.
As one of the more established on-chain derivatives platforms, GMX has a track record in a competitive and fast-moving part of the market. You can keep an eye on the GMX price and hold GMX in a self-custody wallet.

How is GMX priced?
GMX trades 24 hours a day, and its price comes from supply and demand across many exchanges at once. The number above is a live, volume-weighted average of those markets. Because it trades continuously and worldwide, the price can move sharply within a single day. Past performance is no guarantee of future results, and nothing here is financial advice.
Where can I hold GMX?
You can hold GMX in any non-custodial wallet, which means you control the private keys rather than trusting an exchange. Zypto App is a non-custodial multichain wallet where you can hold GMX and swap it into 24,000+ assets. GMX isn't accepted as a payment method yet, so it can't be used for real-world spending in Zypto.
