What is Flow?
Flow is a proof-of-stake layer-1 blockchain built by Dapper Labs and launched in 2020, after the team's earlier CryptoKitties project showed how a popular app could congest Ethereum. It was designed for consumer apps, games, and digital collectibles, and it is the network behind officially licensed projects such as NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day, and UFC Strike.
Instead of sharding, Flow splits validation across four specialized node types so the network can handle high traffic. It supports both its own Cadence language and Solidity, which lets Ethereum-style contracts run alongside native ones.
FLOW is the network's own token. It pays transaction fees, secures the chain through staking and delegation, and is intended to carry on-chain governance as that framework matures. Flow is an established network with real consumer adoption, though usage rises and falls with the apps built on it. You can follow the Flow price and hold FLOW in a self-custody wallet you control.

Because it trades continuously and worldwide, the price can move sharply within a single day. Past performance is no guarantee of future results, and nothing here is financial advice.
Where can I hold Flow?
You can hold Flow in any non-custodial wallet, which means you control the private keys rather than trusting an exchange. Zypto App is a non-custodial multichain wallet where you can hold FLOW and swap it into 24,000+ assets.
