Gm frens, welcome to the first news round-up for September!

Chelsea signs deal with Circle, HMRC counts 240 crypto millionaires, as Stellar’s RWA market reaches $4B. Revolut launches EURR, and XRP may be preparing for a 1,000% explosion, while US banks launch joint blockchain. Finally, Zypto brings BSC trading into its app.

Let’s dive in.

Chelsea signs sponsorship deal with Circle

Chelsea have a new front-of-shirt sponsor for the first time in four years. As announced, it is Circle, the American company behind the USDC stablecoin. Circle and Chelsea signed an initial one-year deal for the 2026/2027 season.

Chelsea FC and Circle USDC front-of-shirt sponsorship announcement

The USDC logo will appear on Chelsea’s shirts for the men’s, women’s and academy teams. It first appeared in Chelsea’s home Sunday Premier League match against Brighton, which they won 4-3.

Chelsea’s last big shirt deal, with phone network Three UK, ended in 2023. Roman Abramovich had sold the club under UK sanctions. A Todd Boehly-led American consortium took over. Then, the stopgaps came. First was Infinite Athlete, a US technology firm. Second was Dubai developer Damac.

Chelsea affirms that the Circle deal matches their market rate. That rate is thought to sit near £50 million a season. USDC is the sixth-largest crypto asset, valued at roughly $73.6 billion. Circle is highly regarded as it was the first major stablecoin issuer cleared under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) rules.

Timing helps too, coming only months after the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) warned Premier League clubs about unauthorized finance sponsors. Full FCA oversight of issuers starts in October 2027. Chelsea’s deal ends five months before that. Circle gets the Premier League prestige before the rulebook arrives.

UK tax authority counts 240 crypto millionaires

The UK tax authority recorded 240 people who each declared over £1 million ($1.35 million) in cryptoasset gains in the 2024 to 2025 tax year. It is the first breakdown of its kind. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) released the numbers in its yearly Capital Gains Tax (CGT) publication.

Those 240 crypto millionaires reported £717 million ($974 million) between them. This works out to just over half of all crypto gains declared to the department that year, according to the statistics.

The wider pool ran to 17,600, who made cryptoasset disposals liable for CGT that year. Their disposal proceeds totaled £13.8 billion ($18.8 billion). Taxable profit on those disposals came to £1.38 billion ($1.88 billion), or roughly an average gain of £78,000 each. Men accounted for about 87% of filers and women about 13%.

Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis measured UK taxable crypto activity at $19.4 billion in 2025. Only the United States, Germany, and China ranked higher. That total splits into $6 billion in gains, $3.3 billion in income, and $10.1 billion in payments.

Chainalysis also called its approach conservative and its total a lower boundary. It covered six blockchains. Nonetheless, the report did not account for activity on centralized exchanges, across all blockchains, or across all transaction types or venues.

HMRC has its own fix coming. The Cryptoasset Reporting Framework (CARF) took effect in January 2026. Providers that fail to comply risk a £300 fine for each customer. Yet, that framework has limits too. Chainalysis found that CARF covers 14% of on-chain taxable activity worldwide. Decentralized exchange trades, peer-to-peer transfers, on-chain income, and payments make up the other 86%.

Stellar’s RWA market reaches $4B

The value of tokenized real-world assets (RWA) on Stellar has climbed roughly 360% in 2026 to $4 billion. It increased from $868.8 million at the end of last year, according to a Dune Analytics dashboard.

The network’s RWA market cap stood at over $4 billion as of August 31, spread across US Treasurys, private and public credit, non-US government debt and other tokenized asset classes.

The market is concentrated among a handful of issuers. Spiko accounted for $1.56 billion of Stellar’s RWA value as of August 29, followed by Realiz at $559 million, Tradable at $548 million, Franklin Templeton at $546 million and Ondo at $535 million.

Stellar has gained ground in non-US government debt. Citing RWA.xyz data, the Stellar Development Foundation said the network held about $490 million in the asset class, as of August 20. The expansion comes as financial institutions and tokenization platforms deepen their use of the network.

In May, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced plans to connect its tokenization service to Stellar, with DTC-tokenized assets expected to become available on the network in the first half of 2027.

That institutional push continued in July, when tokenization platform Tradable announced plans to bring up to $1 billion in private credit assets to Stellar. The integration is designed to support compliance, investor onboarding, and asset lifecycle management, building on $1.7 billion in private credit that Tradable has already tokenized across nearly 30 positions.

Stellar has also expanded its role in digital payments. MoneyGram launched its MGUSD dollar stablecoin on the network in June, allowing users to hold dollar-denominated balances and move funds through its global payments network.

Revolut launches Euro-pegged stablecoin

Neobank Revolut has started rolling out a euro-backed stablecoin to a selected group of customers in Denmark, Poland and Portugal, the fintech company said. It is the first concrete product from a stablecoin plan it announced more than a year ago.

The token, EURR, is designed to hold a value of €1 and is integrated into Revolut’s retail app, giving customers a way to move between euros and crypto on-chain. It will run on several blockchains and work with external wallets, and Revolut said a wider EEA rollout and other currency-denominated tokens are expected later this year.

EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Luxembourg entity licensed by the CSSF as both a crypto asset service provider and electronic money institution. Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure firm, owns it. Revolut’s role is distribution, through a Cyprus-regulated subsidiary licensed under MiCA.

Emil Urmanshin, Revolut’s head of crypto and new bets, said the token connected the company’s 80 million customers to on-chain finance and unlocked “real-world stablecoin utility that no traditional bank or crypto native can match.”

Euro stablecoins arrive with the European Central Bank unconvinced. In May, its president, Christine Lagarde, said they were not an efficient way to strengthen the euro’s international role. She warned of structural weaknesses and also flagged some possible risks.

Meanwhile, Brussels is preparing to revise its MiCA rulebook in 2027 to capture foreign issuers. The expansion will enable it to regulate non-EU stablecoin issuers and broaden its scope. This comes as a Luxembourg entity owned by Americans issues EURR.

Is XRP preparing for a 1,000% explosion?

A few days ago, Ripple’s token jumped to a multi-month high of around $1.70, but later retreated to the current $1.37. The move hasn’t changed the predominant bullish tone across analysts on X. Many expect a price explosion in the near future.

Javon Marks bragged about successfully calling XRP’s bull run in the past. He returned with another big prediction, claiming that the asset’s current structure is showing signs of a breakout from a smaller bullish wedge/flag formation. This could initiate a major continuation above the all-time high and open the door to a rally towards $15.

The analyst believes that if the ongoing structure holds and the smaller formation confirms its breakout, the asset’s valuation could indeed rocket to the aforementioned peak. That represents a nearly 1,000% increase from current levels.

Amonyx is also highly optimistic, envisioning a pump to $20 and “there’s nothing anyone can do about it.” Such an astronomical surge would require XRP’s market cap to jump beyond $1 trillion. As of this writing, only BTC has a higher market cap, making the forecast a bit far-fetched. For now, at least.

While $15 and $20 sound like implausible targets for now, Ripple’s token may indeed head north in the short term. This would be due to the solid institutional interest. A fortnight ago, spot XRP ETFs saw their best week since May. Impressively, the positive performance continued as data show that these products posted eight consecutive green days.

According to another X analyst, CW, the bulls might struggle to initiate a new leg up since the sell wall near $1.49 remains solid. Shortly after, they claimed that XRP failed to break through the point of control once again, arguing that the biggest resistance blocked the rise.

US banks launch joint blockchain

Thirty-nine state banking trade groups have formed the BankChain Alliance, a coalition planning a shared blockchain network for community and regional banks. As announced, the proposed network aims to support tokenized deposits, stablecoins, programmable payments, and automated settlement for thousands of U.S. financial institutions.

It is targeting a 2027 launch but has yet to name a technology provider, blockchain, governance model, or participating banks. The alliance said the shared network would help banks of all sizes adopt blockchain-based services while maintaining existing regulatory standards.

Participating banks span the United States and include associations from Texas, Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Michigan, Wisconsin, Washington, and Oregon.

The coalition also includes groups from smaller markets such as Maine, Vermont, Hawaii, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. The Ohio Bankers League represents Ohio, while every other participant is organized as a state bankers association.

The alliance says banks will be able to own the network. Yet it did not provide specifics on interoperability, whether it’s based on a specific blockchain like XRP, ETH, or SOL, or how tokenized deposits and stablecoins would be issued and settled. The alliance also reportedly modeled its governance structure after the Federal Home Loan Bank system, with participating banks directing and governing the network.

Interestingly, banks and payment providers have spent years testing blockchain-based deposits and around-the-clock settlement.

Last October, Custodia Bank and Vantage Bank Texas introduced an interoperable tokenized-deposit platform for U.S. banks. The following month, JPMorgan launched its JPMD deposit token for institutional clients. In January, BNY announced a private platform for tokenized deposits. In July, SWIFT said 17 global banks would test tokenized-deposit transfers outside traditional banking hours.

Zypto brings BSC trading into its app

Zypto has expanded BNB Smart Chain access in its crypto wallet app, allowing users to manage BNB and trade assets across BSC from within one self-custodial, multichain interface. The feature gives users access to the broader BSC ecosystem while keeping wallet management, token swaps, and everyday crypto utility in Zypto App.

The integration lets users hold, send, receive, and trade BNB Chain assets without switching between separate wallets, browser extensions, or decentralized exchange interfaces. Zypto’s BSC functionality includes on-chain swaps powered by its PancakeSwap integration, providing in-app access to BSC liquidity and token trading routes.

Users can create or import a wallet, generate a BNB Chain address, receive BNB or BSC-based tokens, and manage assets in the app. Zypto also supports buying BNB through more than 130 fiat on-ramp options, including card payments and local bank transfers, depending on availability in the user’s region.

The trading experience is designed to make BSC assets accessible alongside holdings on other networks. BSC remains a major destination for users seeking lower-cost, high-speed blockchain transactions and decentralized applications.

Through Zypto, users can connect with the chain, hold BNB for network fees, manage BSC tokens, and swap into or out of supported assets without manually changing wallet apps or relying on external bridges for routine trades.

The move also reflects the broader shift among crypto wallet providers toward integrated, multichain experiences. Rather than treating a wallet purely as a place to store private keys, platforms are increasingly combining swaps, DeFi access, fiat on-ramps, payments, and portfolio management into one product experience.

Zypto emphasized that users remain in control of their keys throughout the process. As a non-custodial wallet, the app allows users to create or import a wallet using a recovery phrase, secure access with a PIN and optional biometric login, and manage BNB Chain assets directly from their own wallet rather than through a centralized exchange account.

Closing remark

Chelsea and Circle’s partnership signals the football club’s return to a major shirt deal after a series of shorter-term arrangements. HMRC’s report of 240 crypto millionaires during the 2024/25 tax year underscores both the scale of the market and the UK’s coming enforcement push through the crypto asset reporting framework.

Stellar’s tokenized RWA market has surged to about $4 billion in 2026, supported by issuers including Spiko, Franklin Templeton, and Tradable. Revolut has begun rolling out EURR, a euro-backed stablecoin that enables eligible customers to move between euros, crypto, external wallets, and supported blockchains.

Bullish XRP commentators argue that a technical breakout and sustained institutional demand could lift the token. However, forecasts of $15 to $20 would require an enormous rise in market capitalization. Thirty-nine U.S. state banking associations have formed the BankChain Alliance to develop a blockchain network that could support tokenized deposits, stablecoins, programmable payments and automated settlements.

Zypto positions its app as a single environment for managing tokens, accessing DeFi, swapping between chains, and using crypto for payments. The company’s broader platform combines self-custody wallet services with crypto cards, bill payment, gift cards, mobile top-ups, and cash-in/cash-out options.
