Digital dollars are moving into the places money already sits. Mastercard now lets banks and fintechs hold stablecoins beside fiat in one account, software agents are paying for data a few cents or less at a time, and tokenized funds are getting a one-step route into USDC.

  • Mastercard and BVNK open the Global Money Platform, with Nuvei and Marqeta among the first to plug in.
  • 138 million: payments AI agents have sent through the x402 protocol, 87% of those analyzed under 10 cents.
  • Polychain leads an $8 million raise for Multiliquid, which swaps tokenized funds for USDC at net asset value.

Each story removes a step between holding a digital dollar and using it, whether the holder is a business, a fund or a piece of software.

Mastercard and BVNK launched the Global Money Platform on October 15, their first major integration since Mastercard closed its roughly $1.8 billion acquisition of BVNK in August. Banks, fintechs and businesses get multi-currency accounts that hold fiat and stablecoins side by side, with conversion between the two through a single API.

Stablecoin balances can be spent across Mastercard’s merchant network, with card issuing in 130+ countries. They can also be paid out as local currency to bank accounts through Mastercard Move, which Cointelegraph reports can reach more than 17 billion bank accounts and cards. Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem and Almond FinTech are among the first companies to integrate.

Zypto take: When a stablecoin balance sits in the same account as dollars and euros and spends through a familiar card, it stops being a separate world. Fintechs that want to offer that under their own name can build on Zypto’s white-label infrastructure, from branded wallets to card programs.

AI agents have made more than 138 million payments through x402, the payments protocol incubated by Coinbase, according to Chainalysis research reported by CoinDesk on October 14. The payments run on Base, and more than 87% of those analyzed were worth between one-hundredth of a cent and 10 cents, for things like data, computing power and AI model access.

The gap between a wallet being funded and making its first payment fell from 73 days in late 2025 to 18 minutes in the third quarter of 2026. Chainalysis cautions that the counts alone don’t show how much of this is genuine commercial demand.

Zypto take: Paying a tenth of a cent for a piece of data is a job made for stablecoins, money that moves onchain with no account to open first. Base is one of the 20+ blockchains in Zypto App, so the same network these agents pay on is one you can hold and move value on yourself. Download Zypto App.

Multiliquid raises $8M to settle fund swaps

Multiliquid raised $8 million across pre-seed and seed rounds, The Block reported on October 15, with Polychain leading the seed and Circle Ventures among the backers. The non-custodial platform converts tokenized funds into stablecoins, or back again, in one atomic transaction priced at net asset value.

It’s live on Ethereum and Solana with tokenized products from Wellington Management, VanEck, Janus Henderson and Fasanara alongside USDC, and it’s running its first pilot transactions.

Zypto take: A tokenized fund is far more useful when getting out of it takes one transaction instead of a redemption queue. That’s ownership with movement built in, and it’s why Zypto App gives you access to real-world assets from the same self-custody wallet as everything else you hold.

Key Takeaways

  • Stablecoins are arriving inside existing accounts and card networks, so businesses can hold and spend them without a separate setup.
  • Software is becoming a paying customer, and its payments are small, frequent and onchain.
  • Tokenized assets get more useful as the route between them and stablecoins shrinks to a single step.
  • The next marker is Mastercard Move’s planned reach of 40+ currencies across 200+ countries in 2027.
