Whiteheart is a DeFi hedging protocol built on top of the Hegic options system. It offers automated on-chain hedge contracts that let holders of assets like ETH and WBTC protect the value of their positions against falling prices, while still earning yield. The aim is to give DeFi users a way to limit downside risk directly through smart contracts. WHITE is the protocol's governance token, and holders receive a share of the fees the protocol generates. It runs as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and has a very small fixed supply of 8,888 tokens. The token went live in December 2020. The project shares roots with Hegic, which was created by the pseudonymous builder Molly Wintermute.
