Stablecoins picked up a bank, a currency partner and a route home to family in a single day. Ripple now has a federally chartered trust bank of its own, SBI wants its yen stablecoin working alongside BlackRock’s tokenized fund, and MAJORITY is paying families in Latin America in USDC.
- Final OCC sign-off: Ripple National Trust Bank will look after RLUSD’s reserves.
- A yen stablecoin meets a $2.17 billion tokenized fund in an SBI, Startale and BlackRock MOU.
- Weekends and holidays included, MAJORITY members in the US can now pay family abroad in USDC.
Banks, fund managers and money apps are reaching for the same tool, each building its own way to move dollars or yen onchain.
Ripple gets its own US trust bank

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has given final approval to Ripple National Trust Bank, CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced late on October 26. Ripple applied in July 2025 and won conditional approval in December 2025.
The bank will manage the reserves behind RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar stablecoin, act as trustee for them, and offer custody to institutional clients. RLUSD itself is still issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, Ripple’s New York-regulated unit, and is worth about $2.5 billion.
Zypto take: A crypto firm running its own national trust bank shows how far banks and crypto have moved toward each other. The charter covers RLUSD’s reserves, while the tokens still travel wallet to wallet, and in Zypto App the keys to your wallet stay on your own device.
SBI and BlackRock pair a yen stablecoin with BUIDL

SBI Holdings and Startale Group have signed a memorandum of understanding with BlackRock to explore connecting tokenized money market funds with JPYSC, SBI’s yen stablecoin. The fund in focus is BUIDL, which holds about $2.17 billion in US Treasurys, overnight repos and cash.
JPYSC launched in June 2026, with SBI Shinsei Trust Bank managing issuance and SBI VC Trade handling distribution. The partners will study technology, distribution and regulation, and they haven’t set a launch date.
Zypto take: Pairing a yen stablecoin with a dollar fund points to value moving between currencies and asset types onchain. Tokenized real-world assets get far more useful once they sit beside the money people use day to day.
MAJORITY sends family payments as USDC
Source: The Manila Times
MAJORITY, a US mobile banking and money transfer app, has launched cross-border stablecoin payments to Latin America with zerohash. Members in the US pay in dollars, and family members who also use MAJORITY receive USDC in their Global Wallet, which the company describes as self-custodial.
Transfers run 24/7, weekends and holidays included, with zerohash converting and delivering the funds. “Our members support family back home every week, and that shouldn’t depend on bank hours,” said product director Anders Rasmussen.
Zypto take: For families who send money home each week, a dollar stablecoin that runs around the clock is adoption at its most practical. Once it arrives, USDC is the same token in whichever wallet holds it, and Zypto App keeps it alongside 24,000+ crypto assets. Download Zypto App.
