Stay safe

Keep your crypto safe

Zypto is a self-custodial wallet, which means you hold your own keys and your funds are truly yours. No one else can touch them, including us. Here is how to keep it that way.

Zypto will never ask you for these

  • Your recovery phrase or private keys
  • Your password or PIN
  • You to "verify" your wallet by entering your phrase on a website

We never DM you first. Anyone who asks for the above is a scammer, every time, with no exceptions.

The essentials

Five things worth understanding

Your recovery phrase

The 12 to 24 words that restore your wallet. Anyone with them controls your funds. Because Zypto is self-custodial, no one, including us, can recover it if it is lost.

Write it on paper, store it offline in more than one place
Never type it into a website, photograph it, or store it in the cloud

Device and app security

Only install Zypto from official app stores. Keep your device updated, use a screen lock and biometrics, and watch out for fake "Zypto" apps and clone sites.

Download only from the App Store or Google Play; check the URL
Never sideload an APK from a link someone sent you

Phishing and scams

Fake support, fake giveaways and airdrops, "you've won" messages, and urgent pressure are all designed to rush you. Slow down and verify.

Assume urgency and "free money" are red flags
Never click links in unexpected DMs or connect to sites you did not seek out

Transaction safety

Crypto transactions cannot be reversed. Double-check the address and the network before you send, and understand token approvals.

Send a small test amount first; verify the whole address, not just the ends
Never approve a transaction you do not understand; revoke old approvals

Spotting impersonation

Scammers copy our name, logo and tone across fake socials, DMs, and "admin" accounts. Only trust Zypto's real, verified channels, linked from this site's footer. If an account messages you first claiming to be Zypto support, it is not us.

Quick checklist

Do these six things

  • Store your recovery phrase offline
  • Install only the official app
  • Turn on biometrics and a screen lock
  • Verify addresses before sending
  • Ignore unexpected DMs and giveaways
  • Bookmark the real Zypto site
If something goes wrong

Act quickly, stay calm

1
Move your funds

If your recovery phrase may have been exposed, create a new wallet and move your assets to it right away.

2
Revoke approvals

Use a token-approval tool to revoke access you no longer recognize or need.

3
Report and get help

Report the scam to the relevant platform and reach out through our official Support page.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Zypto safe?

Zypto is self-custodial, so your keys and funds stay with you and no third party can access them. Security is a shared responsibility: the app protects the wallet, and the habits on this page protect you. No wallet can promise you will never be targeted, which is why these steps matter.

What if I lose my recovery phrase?

If your recovery phrase is lost and you no longer have access to the wallet, the funds cannot be recovered by anyone, including Zypto. That is the trade for true ownership, and it is why storing your phrase safely offline is the single most important thing you can do.

Can Zypto freeze or recover my funds?

No. Because Zypto is self-custodial, we cannot freeze, reverse, or recover transactions, and we cannot access your funds. Only you can.

Zypto asked me for my recovery phrase, is that real?

No. Zypto and its support team will never ask for your recovery phrase, keys, or password, and will never DM you first. Treat any such request as a scam.
