什麼是 Dash？

Dash is a payments-focused cryptocurrency built for everyday transactions, positioning itself as digital cash that is quick and cheap to send. It launched in January 2014, first under the name Xcoin, then Darkcoin, before settling on Dash in 2015. Dash runs its own proof-of-work blockchain using the X11 hashing algorithm, and it pioneered a two-tier network in which operators run masternodes alongside ordinary miners.

Those masternodes power features that set Dash apart, including InstantSend for near-instant confirmations and CoinJoin for optional transaction privacy. The same masternode layer runs a self-funding treasury and on-chain governance: a portion of each block reward goes to a community fund, and masternode operators vote on which proposals receive it. This makes Dash one of the earliest examples of a decentralized organization managing its own development budget.
