Oasis is a layer-1 blockchain built around privacy and confidential computing. It separates the network into a consensus layer and runtime environments called ParaTimes, with its Sapphire runtime letting developers build applications that keep data encrypted even while it is being processed using secure hardware enclaves.

The ROSE token is the network's native asset and launched with the mainnet in 2020. It is used to pay transaction fees and for staking and delegation, where holders help secure the network and earn rewards. Oasis runs as its own chain and centers its identity on private, verifiable data handling.
