什麼是 Powerledger？

Powerledger builds software for tracking, tracing, and trading renewable energy and environmental commodities. Founded in 2016, it uses blockchain to support peer-to-peer energy trading, letting participants such as households with solar panels sell surplus power directly rather than only through traditional utilities.

POWR is the platform's access token: businesses hold it as a license to use Powerledger's energy-trading software. The token launched in 2017 as an ERC-20 on Ethereum, while the network has since moved its energy transaction processing onto a Solana-based chain for lower-cost throughput. A separate stable unit, Sparkz, is used to settle the actual kilowatt-hour trades.

Powerledger operates in the real-world energy and sustainability sector, which ties its adoption to utility and regulatory partnerships.
