Dogelon Mars is a memecoin inspired by Dogecoin and the idea of space colonization, wrapped in a fictional storyline about a Mars-bound canine character. Like many memecoins, its value comes from community and culture rather than a specific product, though the project has since added a wider ecosystem of community content and tools.

ELON is the project's token. It launched in April 2021 on Ethereum and has since been bridged to other chains including Polygon and BNB Smart Chain. At launch, half the supply was placed in a Uniswap liquidity pool and the other half was sent to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who later donated much of it to charity. The token name plays on Elon Musk but the project is not affiliated with him.
