World Mobile is a decentralized telecom project, a DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure network) that aims to extend mobile and internet connectivity to underserved regions using community-operated nodes rather than centralized carriers alone. Local operators run hardware that provides coverage and links into existing networks.

WMTX is the network's utility token, used to pay for services and to reward node operators across the ecosystem. The project began on Cardano and the token later migrated to a multichain model (WMTX) spanning Ethereum, Base, and BNB Chain, alongside the project's own telecom-focused chain. As a hardware-dependent telecom build-out, its progress is tied to real-world deployment, which takes time.
