As we celebrate this season of renewal, hope, and connection, we want to take a moment to wish all of you, our incredible community and valued partners, a very Happy Easter. Thank you for your continued support, passion, and belief in what we’re building together. It means the world to us.

In the spirit of Easter, we also wanted to share a fascinating piece of blockchain history that’s been making waves again: the story behind Bitcoin’s 666,666th block, and how it contains a message with biblical resonance.

Mined in January 2021, block 666,666 includes a subtle but striking reference in its coinbase transaction:

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. – Romans 12:21”

This message wasn’t randomly added, it was a deliberate nod from the miner (believed to be from mining pool F2Pool), and a callback to Bitcoin’s very first block, the legendary Genesis Block. Embedded in that block’s data was a headline from The Times on January 3rd, 2009, the day the Genesis Block was mined:

“The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.”

That original message was a powerful critique of the centralised financial system, and a spark that ignited the decentralised revolution we’re all part of today. The Romans 12:21 quote, appearing in block 666,666, a number loaded with symbolism, feels like a reflection of the values many in the crypto space still hold: integrity, freedom, and doing good in the face of challenge.

This Easter, as we reflect on themes of rebirth and hope, this piece of blockchain history reminds us of how powerful small actions and messages can be, even when buried in code.

Wishing you peace, joy, and inspiration this Easter.
