It runs as an automated market maker, letting users swap tokens, provide liquidity to earn fees, and take part in yield programs without handing custody of their funds to an intermediary. Low TON network fees and direct integration with TON wallets make it one of the more active trading venues in that ecosystem.
STON is the protocol's utility token. Holders can lock it through long-term staking to earn GEMSTON rewards and gain voting power in the protocol's DAO, which decides on upgrades and new features. The token launched in 2023, while the underlying exchange has operated since 2022.
