Was ist Across Protocol?
Across Protocol is a cross-chain bridge that moves assets between Ethereum and its layer-2 networks, including Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and Polygon. It uses an intent-based design: a user states what they want to receive on the destination chain, and a competitive network of relayers fronts the funds and fulfills the request, settling later through a single liquidity pool. The protocol is secured by UMA's optimistic oracle.
ACX is the governance token of Across. It was originally used to govern the Across DAO and direct protocol decisions, with a maximum supply of one billion tokens. The token launched in late 2022 as an ERC-20 on Ethereum.
In April 2026 a governance proposal approved restructuring the project into a U.S. corporation, giving ACX holders a choice between an equity swap and a USDC buyout, so the token's future role is in transition.
